Tights & Hose

Out with the leggings and in with the tights. Yes, it's time to retire those leggings that you have desperately made stretch through 4 seasons and pick up a pair of tights. In case you don't remember, in this seasons fall runway shows tights were pretty prominent. Tights were everywhere from your basic blacks of Burberry Prorsum, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Catherine Malandrino to your metallics and more colorful looks: red, orange, green, pale blue, and brown. Of course the bolder more interesting tights will be those thick, mod-inspired opaque or woven and textured tights from the early 90's.
Now to some of us, this fixation with tights is old news. Tights have been around for decades and many celeb stylists have been putting their clients in them. Karla Welch, Nylon Magazine and celebrity stylist admits that "they're such an easy trend to get in on because they make your legs look so incredible. You're going to look much thinner. I've always put my clients in them." One of Karla's clients, Indie singer Feist, "always performs in matching tights" and I think we all love Feist's style.
So there you have it. That's my skinny on tights. Also, on those warmer days don't forget that hose can be worn. I just picked up a few tights from Target the other day to add to my growing collection so now its your turn. Pick your tights today!

We ♥ Smashbox!!!

Just though it would be great to let everyone who, don’t already know (b/c u all should), about one of the hottest cosmetic lines available right now. Smashbox Cosmetics offers an array of different products, and also manages to be cruelty free. They have won the Peta Proggy award and many other awards for providing fly, but animal testing free cosmetics. Smashbox studios is also the home to a modeling agency, production company, clothing line, and also the Mercedes Benz fashion week at smash box studios in Los Angeles, so they are doing a lot to stay on top in the fashion industry. Their most popular products would definitely be the Photo Finish Lipstick, and the Photo Finish Foundation Primer. My top picks would have to be the Sunset Boulevard Fusion Soft Lights bronzer and the Emulsion Lip Exfoliant (sweet and minty!!). They also sell cute Tokidoki kits (another PWC favorite). So make sure you go to Sephora and test out Smashbox cosmetics because you'll be addictive, and it’s always fun to play dress up in Sephora lol!

::Fall Trends:: Metallics

If you’re a seeker-outer of exclusives like me and my girls then you gotta get on natural metallic tones for fall. This trend is typically perennial but trust and believe that a signature shiny piece like a slim clutch, streamline jacket or flimsy camisole always adds sexy to any chic ensemble.
Metallic is best in bits but if you’re a stunner like Heather Lynn…do it, do it, do it! SHE KILLS in a mid-drift metallic breaker with Oh My!, second skin leggings and chopper high heels. Fearless!

Or just stay a tool...

::Life’s a ZOO?!
Embrace it. Then take it out to lunch, literally!Built NY teamed up with, children’s book illustrator, Stephen Savage to create a zoobilly-break from your tired old company-logo zipped up nylon doo-dad, to one that showcases some of our favorite animals. Not only are they the cutest (I mean most savage!!) creatures ever, but there’s also function in their forms when they unzip to become placemats. Now go on, this time you can feed the Animals.

Fergie and Kipling:: A Little Monkey Business

What’s a better way to relate to your target audience than to get a trendy songstress they admire to play designer for a line they’d rarely consider. And Kipling® did just that!
Hitting stores in September is Fergie for Kipling®. This glamorous girl has signed on to design a handbag collection to drop each month, September thru November (fall 07) and again in summer 08. Each collection features new designs and silhouettes modeled after a few of her favorite looks. The first Nice Scout reflects elements from the Fergalicious video; draped in leather and mesh, this collection is detailed with silver and bronze toned zippers on shimmery or matte bronze, black, and camo print. The next, Naughty Scout, is a little more sexily clad with embossed pink lips, silver rivets, and “Fergie Loves Kipling” texts in glittery gunmetal, smoky slate, and bright fuchsia. The last of the fall fleet is The Dutchess emulating her 06 Billboard Music Awards dress of plaid in rich royal hues of cobalt blue, amethyst, green and black tones decorated with tassels. So if you’re feeling like celebrating your Glamorous Life pick up a Fergilicious hobo or fanny-pack. You can preview her collection now at Kipling® or wait a couple weeks and visit a store near you.

The "Almost" Perfect Shoe

When I saw this cute little black wedge shoe in Nine West I froze with excitement and stood in place drooling like a little kid in the candy store. Anxious to try on the shoe, I quickly took of my banana Miss Sixty flats and sat calmly. When my size 8.5 finally came from the stock room, I unpackaged the contents of the shoe box as if it were Christmas Day and gazed at this rare shinny black shoe in awe. Now here was the test, how will it look on my foot. I usually have good luck with the fit of a shoe but I was still leary to see the results of my find! As I finally tried on the shoe I quickly realized that the shoe was cut rather close to the toes and my foot was showing too much toe crack!!! UGGHH!! I was so displeased with this result. I walked around the store with the shoes on, not yet ready to see them go. Finally, reality sunk in and I had to face with the fact that the shoes could not be mine but that doesn't mean you can't be fly. Check your local Nine West for their new Fall Arrivals or visit them online at NineWest.com

"The Dior Fine Jewelry collection might draw inspiration from the Parisian atelier, but its eye-catching pieces possess a whimsical wow factor all their own. From the beginning, Artistic Director Victoire de Castellane has been telling elaborate stories with her daring, imaginative designs. The gems tend toward exaggeratedly big and bold or small and delicate, and often feature a delectable array of candy-colored stones. While held to the highest standards of Parisian craftsmanship, each piece manages to pull off playful and care-free making the accessories ideal for both day and night."
